Best described as a ‘post-grunge inspired power- pop-cheese pizza’, Family Dog’s new record is sure to bust you out of your seat and to their nearest show. Conceived in a tiny apartment in Brunswick East, Melbourne, the record captures the once naive ideologies and cynicisms of a sociable and confident boy and turns them on themselves in a rage of adult angst-riddled music. Pieced together by a range of instruments, common to the post-grunge era, the self-titled record makes for a thought-provoking and honest listen. Family Dog is a five-piece alternate rock band from Newcastle Australia. Established in 2015, the band has stayed current with the release of singles including Painted Black and crowd favourite, You Never Lie. 2017 marks the debut east-coast tour for the band which includes the official Launch Party at the Stag & Hunter, Newcastle on March 4th. ‘Family Dog Mini Album’ is available from February 24th.
