We’re not talking about the philosopher, though the moniker is indeed a reference to the 16th century essayist. But if Michel de Montaigne is to renaissance philosophy, this <strong>Montaigne</strong> is to music. <strong>Montaigne</strong> is the stage and artist name of <strong>Jessica Cerro</strong> and this is how she lives through music.<br> <strong>Jessica Cerro</strong> was a <strong>triple j Unearthed High</strong> finalist of 2012 with boppy indie pop song <strong>‘Anyone But Me’</strong>. Searching for a deeper, more meaningful sound, Jess decided to wait on pursuing her music career full-time in order to finish her secondary studies. Over the course of the past two years she spent time refining and developing her songwriting skills under the guidance of <strong>Michael Szumowski</strong> of <strong>Alberts</strong> music.
