Fire! Santa Rosa, Fire! are noisy. They enjoy post-hardcore, and electro-barrage, even some electro-clash. They also make pop music.

Tell us about your music - how did you develop your sound?
Well, we've been developing as a band for a long time now. Most of us met at school and messed around a lot in the music lounge and stuff like that and we formed a band not long
out of school. From there we kind of hopped on the 'indie-pop/rock' band-wagon like a lot of other bands and played music like that for a while but now we're trying to extend ourselves a
little bit more. We've been taking a lot more time to broaden our own musical tastes and with that I guess has come a desire to do stuff that's a little bit weirder. We're trying to make interesting pop-music, its pretty easy to slip into a formula when you're making our kind of music and while we certainly haven't and don't get it right all the time we're trying not to let ourselves get pigeon-holed into being just another 'Indie-dance band' because we got a lot of that a few years ago and I guess now we're trying to prove we're worth our salt :)
Tell us about the Adelaide music scene.
The scene is certainly getting better! I mean, when we got on the scene a few years ago we were, without a doubt, pretty awful. We were quite obviously derivative of the music we were listening to and stuff like that. I think a lot of bands in Adelaide suffered from that same problem. But at the moment there are quite a few pretty promising bands getting their stuff together and the scene is becoming pretty cosy, generally speaking most bands look out for each-other, which is the way it should be in a city like Adelaide. There are nicks and scratches and a few unpolished gems and all that but I think there are more than a few very worthy bands out there or up and coming.
What have been your favourite gigs thus far?
Big Day Out 07 was pretty bad-ass. We played with the Midnight Juggernauts a year ago and while we were a pretty different band back then it was still great fun. I can't say we listen to their music too much any more but we used to and the crowd that was already there was very receptive to the music we were playing, overall that experience always sticks in my head. It was one of those times where everybody was out to have a good time. Also our most recent EP Launch. Once again, we were a bit of a different band but it was very flattering to have so many people come out and support us, I don't think any of us had any idea people actually thought we were worth a damn. Those are probably the three gigs we agree on when it comes to awesome shows.
What's coming up in the future?
We're hoping to do a whole bunch of shows over summer, raise our interstate profile. We're working on heaps of new material, I think we're finally starting to fill our own shoes and etch out a direction that we all have a general confidence in.
Australian music is?
Full of a lot of promise. Some bands/artists are still playing it a bit safe, not really pushing themselves, but those who have done a bit more exploration into their music are uncovering some really interesting/amazing stuff. We have a history worth being proud of and I think there is definately a lot of australian music out their doing our country a lot of credit.
