Sounds Like:
Irrelevant, Stretch Arm Strong, thrice
These energetic lads from Port Stephens in NSW have scored themselves a spot on the Come Together Festival line-up with their roaring vocals and hammering drums and guitars. We reckon they'll fit in nicely with the other bands and give festival goers an excuse to tap a few toes and nod a few heads.

Describe your music.
Like a hot pumpkin soup on a cold night. Just what you need. OR a mix between all of our favourite bands, hopefully. Bit of punk, metal and hardcore riffs mixed with melodic vocals.
Describe your local music scene
Shithouse, but the Newcastle scene treats us very well. Here at home, last year we supported I Killed The Prom Queen, The Amity Affliction and The Daylight Curse, who are all awesome Australian bands, and the turnout was so terrible. Kids around here just don't appreciate it. But Newcastle, that same show, all ages, would be a full house.
We're just starting to break into the Newcastle circuit, and it's going well for us. Big bands help us out and then they move on, and hopefully we'll take their place. Then we find upcoming bands and help them, and so on. A lot of our friends play in big Newcastle bands, like Dropsaw, Nothing Days, Every Word and The Common Code, and that helps us a lot. Having respected bands like that respect us, it's a good feeling.
What's the best advice you've been given and who was it from?
I read an article once with the vocalist from Taking Back Sunday, and he had this same question. He said once someone told him that if you do just one thing every day, no matter how big or small, towards acheiving your goal, then you'll be successful. So I've tried to put that into practice as much as possible.
Other than that, whenever we're playing and I'm talking to the crowd, and someone tells me to shutup, it's usually pretty sound advice.
Describe an average rehearsal session for Waterview. Where does it take place?
Once every thousand years. Haha, nah. Lately our drummer had to take a job seven hours south of where we all live, which has made life a little tough. But usually it'll be a Wednesday night at our mates Art and Design Gallery, 'Sushi + Cigarettes'. We take 45 minutes to set up, 45 minutes over the road at the pub, 45 minutes trying to get everyone in the same room and then play for a bout 10. Haha, it's a mess. But somehow we end up getting through the set and our live show isn't too messy. Hopefully!
Who would you most like to tour with and what tips would you ask them for?
That's such a hard question, as we're all from different musical backgrounds. I think it would have to be a band we all admire, and one where the crowd would also enjoy our music. Probably Strung Out or Thrice, as they're both bands we all enjoy. As for tips ... they'd probably be all musical, those guys could definately make us better musicians.
What do you do when you’re not making and playing music?
Work jobs to pay for the music we play. We're all friends so we spend a lot of time together. It's good because you know what everyone's like on stage and it helps when you're all playing together. It's usually having a beer of many at the pub.
What have you got planned for the future?
Play more shows, maybe another tour this year, then maybe another EP or perhaps even an album. And then who knows. Maybe our own reality TV show. Nothing too far-fetched. Doing something you love and getting paid for it is everyone's dream. If we were able to travel the world playing our songs and not have to 'work' again, I think we'd all be pretty stoked.
