Leroy Lee
Genre:
Roots
Region:
Sydney, NSW
In the words of Missy Higgins:
"I really like the production on this track. The laid-back vocals show tasteful restraint and the instrumentation- especially the rhythm section- is rich and interesting. Like the change of feel into the chorus too, it feels Elliot Smith inspired…? I hate star ratings as it’s all just opinion but I really like your stuff and looking forward to hearing more!"

Describe your music.
Folk /blues and roots influenced songs
Do you always play solo? Ever wanted to play with a band?
Yeah, I usually start a gig off playing solo but I either try and get people to tap salt shakers against tables and beer glasses (oh yes, they smash) or get friends such as "Tim Weekes" to come and sing with me or "Joe Gould" from the crooked fiddle band to come and play some percussion:)
And yeah, all I ever wanted was just to play guitar in a band and write songs and have that whole band mateship thing goin on but it's hard to find people who all share a vison and also gel musically:( but I guess you just have to keep moving forward "yourself" even though you don't know what your headed. And now I really enjoying playing solo anyway. Though i AM looking for an upright bass player:)
What was the last album you bought?
Brian Campeau an album called Two Faces (I already own a copy but i bought it as a present for a friend)
Cornelius "sensuous"
When your not making and playing music what do you do?
I work part time as a barista (in training) I'm also an old fashioned handyman type thing.
Describe your ideal gig. Where would it be? Who would be there?
It would be at a grass roots style festival just as the sun goes down with all of my friends jamming along. A cool breeze would be gently carrying along the smell of foreign foods and incense and maybe someone would invite me onstage to play egg shaker or something......
What have you got planned for the future?
I'm printing out an EP for the Missy Higgins tour and then I'm back in the studio to finish off the album and hopefully get a band together.
Australian music is...
Yours, so take care of it!
