Since their formation in 2004, CASUAL PROJECTS have been relentlessly touring the east coast of Australia, earning them a reputation for their high energy live performances. Their music combines elements of Soul, Hip Hop and Rock informed by an education in Jazz (the group formed while most of the members were at music school). The Projects have recorded two albums (out through MGM/Green) and released three video clips, including "Move Along," which won RAGE Indie Clip of the week. Their latest album, "No Rest," was recorded with esteemed Australian producer and engineer, Tony Buchen (aka BUCHMAN), the man behind MACROMANTICS, KID CONFUCIOUS, THE BAGGSMEN and ANDY BULL.

CASUAL PROJECTS were winners of the 2008 JD Set, as well as being named as finalists for the International Songwriting Competition and the Music Oz awards. They have performed at festivals including the Great Escape, Corinbank, the Multicultural Fringe, and Village Fair, and supported international bands including ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT and SPOON. They have also played alongside ARCHITECTURE IN HELSINKI, BLUE KING BROWN, and ALEX LLOYD to name but a few. 2009 will see the band relocate to Melbourne where they are building a following with an increasingly busy schedule of gigs and residencies.
