Cellist and singer/songwriter Mel Robinson has carved a niche within contemporary Australian music for her unique and enigmatic style. Steve Richter, pianist and multi-percussionist, has a reputation for giving passionate and energetic performances. Mr. Sister’s sonic world consists of intimate songs built into rich tapestries of multi-layered and looped cellos, percussion and piano. Mel Robinson is also cellist and arranger for Australian artists such as Tim Rogers, You Am I and Jimmy Barnes.

Festivals include: Perth International Arts Festival, Brisbane Biennial Festival, National Folk Festival (ACT), New Directions in Music Festival (Singapore), NW Electro-Acoustic Music Festival (Portland, USA), Folk Alliance Australia (ACT), Fairbridge Festival (WA), Nannup Festival (WA), Totally Huge New Music Festival (WA), Shinju Matsuri (Broome), Cygnet Festival (TAS).

Releases: Mr. Sister’s first full-length album Empty Places released nationally on October 6, 2008, through Same Road Records/Vitamin. Mel Robinson’s debut solo album After the Storm was released nationally in January 2005 to critical acclaim (high rotation on Triple J), followed by Mr. Sister’s EP Unravelling (May 2006). Mel also features as arranger/cellist/singer/co-producer on You Am I’s new album Dilettantes (September 08), and in the same capacity on Tim Rogers solo album The Luxury of Hysteria (2007).

Really dig this track. It's one of "those" songs with "something". A catchy tune and loads of ambience! The remix doesn't do complete justice to Mel'...
