Based in Adelaide, The Killgirls are a 5-piece indie/electro band making music for party people that like getting smacked in the face and held in the heart.

Notable shows include Parklife 2010, The Boiler Room at The Big Day Out 2011, Adelaide Clipsal 500 After Race Concert and Adelaide’s night of nights, the Fringe Festival Opening where they rocked a crowd of 40,000 people and played with a 15-piece African Choir. The Killgirls have shared stages with MM9, Bloody Beetroots, Art VS Science, Die Antwoord, Oh Mercy!, MSTRKRFT, Birds Of Tokyo, Gyroscope, Dead Letter Circus, Children Collide and Crystal Castles.

This A-team of Australian synth-rock slayed at the Adelaide Fringe Opening Night extravaganza.

Officially the newest addition to the New World Artists booking roster (newworldartists.net), 2011 will see The Killgirls expanding on previous touring experiences in Melbourne, Sydney and Newcastle and sharing their energy with new audiences.

A month before the launch of their self titled debut EP in 2009, The Killgirls were tracked down by Special Police after being seen kidnapping fans who’d participated in a web based ‘treasure hunt’. The stunt fuelled their sold out launch (which raised the bar on killer Adelaide parties) held in the heritage listed Queens Theatre complete with mirror ball skyline, killer light show and indoor spa.

...best launch ever!
dB Magazine

The Killgirls EP was recorded in Adelaide with Melbourne based producer Jed Palmer and mastered by Mike Marsh at the Exchange in London whose working credits include The Prodigy, The Chemical Bros, The Klaxons and fellow Australians The Presets and Sneaky Sound System. More recently, Lamar Lowder at the Sound Sanctuary in Sydney has taken over recording/producing duties.

‘ I hope they start getting some real exposure because they have star quality.’
- Richard Holt / Traffik
