It’s been a worldwide journey of musings and sounds to capture the true essence of who this singer-songwriter has become. After the last 7 years in Melbourne, Alexis has her music well appreciated throughout the Old Town’s best venues and by their crowds.
Alexis Nicole is the real deal. Composing pieces since she was big enough to play guitar at the age of 6, her work ‘No Justice’ was picked up by some local Sydney radio stations at the ripe old age of 10.
An experienced performer – Alexis has been performing regularly for many years in Sydney, Melbourne and now Brisbane, as well as hitting parts of Europe and the U S. Her first album ‘Zenith,’ was produced at the age of 15, featuring songs which commented on inter-cultural issues and personal struggles related to her peers.
At 16 she performed as the key international act at the Unity Music Awards held in Ohio, USA. The Unity Music team had her return to the USA on tour a year later. Her encounters through this time are noteworthy … not to mention the great response from crowds throughout the cities of New York, Ohio, Nashville and California. The opportunity to play as a guest artist at Ben Harper’s famous family bohemian music store in Claremont, California inspired yet another song, ‘Perfect Lover’.
After heading to Europe to provide further fodder for her sound, Alexis’ song ‘Treasure of Reality’ was targeted by Italian film-makers who requested to use the piece in their documentaries. She was instantly featured on a variety of network media channel and gained a fan-base here rapidly.
She personally produced her 2nd Album during this time, ‘Optimistic You’, named after the title track, which sold out upon launch.
Back in Australia, while Sydney born, Alexis knew that she had to best comprehend the day-by-day nature of her art and travelled to Melbourne where she furthered her research into the heart of our Australian culture and the entire music scene. Alexis is a bold young woman with a wealth of experience in performance and song writing with an incredible enthusiasm to boot.
Alexis presents courage and vulnerability to her art all at once. Her songs are a fusion of folk/roots, alternative and gypsy and her content inspired by social observation and her passion for cultural intricacies. A prolific songwriter and a powerful performer!
Now with her band The Missing Pieces and Alexis go on to share raw and organic sounds.
The Missing Pieces are instrumentalists and singers who come together to deliver songs reflecting Alexis Nicole’s complex observation of life. They include some of the best musicians from around Australia and beyond. But what they have in common is the unifying rhythm and tunes developed by Alexis and the fun they all have.

In early 2012 Alexis and some of the Pieces have ventured to the city of Brisbane, for a few months to record their upcoming EP ‘Paper Cut Outs’ due for release later in 2012.
This has also come about through the recent agreement with Footstomp Music to plan out the future development of Alexis & The Missing Pieces. This year is going to be a very significant one for the band. Stay tuned for dates of performances and don’t miss out on the upcoming single release of ‘Got To Be Real’ and subsequent EP release.
