Glasgow to Perth to Melbourne. Lost Weekends converged from all corners to make late night music.
Formed proper in 2011, Lost Weekends cut their teeth in the Melbourne live scene over the last two years under various guises. Honing their sound along the way.
What results is a four-piece band playing a heady mix of beat-heavy dance music in which to lose yourself... or find yourself.
In 2012 Lost Weekends finished their debut recordings with producer Malcolm Besley (Gold Fields, Northeast Party House, Snakadaktal, Hunting Grounds), the first of which was 'Swallow Your Pill'. The year was spent playing the material to Melbourne and festival audiences. 2013 will see the band back in the studio to work on their debut release and continue to play new audiences in the live scene.
***PURPLE SNEAKERS' REVIEW OF 'SWALLOW YOUR PILL'***
“… Let’s get this straight right now – if you don’t give the song a chance, you’re probably a dick.
From the addictive opening riff – which is quite reminiscent of Kasabian – it becomes clear that LOST WEEKENDS aren’t some tacky overdone LMFAO “party rockers”…
‘Swallow Your Pill’ quite perfectly captures the grotty, yet structured, guitar driven big festival feel that has worked for many a band before them…
… The song more than lives up to its local and international counterparts. We suggest you get on board now.”
