Born in the shadows of a garage in Kiama, Influenced by the old school blues and todays new indie genre we formed The VANNS. We started jamming in the early months of 2012 and have already recorded a 7-track demo and about to go into the studio again to record a 5 track EP. We placed 2nd in the Mounties Battle Of The Bands competition and just recently won The Red Bull Bedroom Jam final supporting The Getaway Plan at The Hifi Bar in Sydney, which also scored us a set at HOMEBAKE 2012. The band consists of the funky keys man Bob Korber with smooth backing vocals, groovin' bass licks by Adam Bernich, Lachlan Jones keeps the beats rollin' all day long, and James Vann the man up front with his in your face guitar licks & vocals. Along with our high-energy showmanship, this is what makes The VANNS.

We have been starting to headline shows in Wollongong and Sydney and starting to be seen by top guns of the industry.

Our main influences are Ball Park Music, Jinja Safari, Kings Of Leon, Led Zeppelin, The Black Keys, Jimi Hendrix and The White Stripes. Mash them all together and hopefully what comes out is the Blues and Indie styles of The VANNS!

Oooh, I like this tune. It's got that rootsy swagger on the vocals and a lovely indie sound aswell. Nice!

Great husky vocal atop a catchy tune. Great production and tidy basslines too. This song has it all! Really well executed, dudes.

For a young singer your voice is quite hoarse. It's wispy and gentle and lovely to listen too, particularly behind the neat grit of the riffs. Any ra...
