Russian Winters debut album LAST BATTLES was released nationally in Sept 2011.

"beautifully constructed . . elements of early Radiohead"
Drum Media CD of the Week (for Last Battles)

"accomplished, adventurous and completely engaging . .one of the most talented songwriting collectives in WA and indeed the country."
The Wire Mag

"I was already into this song and then the trumpets came out! Then vocal harmonies! This tune just keeps giving and giving. Awesome stuff."
4/5
Dom Alessio, triple j (for Pacific)

"Pacific is a poetically forceful track . . feast your ears and get ready for much bigger things from these guys."
Drum Media - SINGLE OF THE WEEK (for Pacific)

Last Battles was produced by Dave Parkin (Jebediah, Red Jezebel, Sons of Rico) and Russian Winters at Blackbird Studios in Perth.
First single, 'Pacific' is a thumping slice of dark indie pop - a reflection of the sound the band achieved over 10 months of writing.

Old grunge faves, UK shoegaze flashbacks and American indie-folk harmony bands were thrown on the reference CD to compliment the Winters’ brooding structures, washy guitars and overdriven vocals.

The band was picked by Triple J Unearthed to play Parklife 2011 in Perth.
'Twas a lovely way to celebrate the album's release!

Last Battles has been getting some ace reviews around the country and the band is gearing up for a 2012 national tour.

You lads seem to find creative inspiration in the strangest of places, but with results as spiky and fun as this I'm not complaining.
