As A Rival are a three piece rock band from Melbourne. Forming in early 2011 from a plethora of bedroom demo’s and vented frustration, it wasn’t too long before they found their sound, a mixture of punk, rock and schizophrenia.

In 2011 As A Rival recorded and released a 3-track EP, ‘Reminder Designer’, shot a video and played a string of shows across Victoria.
A brief hiatus while members traveled provided the band with a break after all the mess and noise of their beginning, as well as an opportunity to be inspired and write new material.

The new songs were road tested in 2012, before heading back into the studio to record a 5-track EP.
New single, ‘Warm Gun’ (accompanied with music video http://youtu.be/V1V-7M-oiZY) is their first release for 2013, from the upcoming EP, ‘Concerning Trends’. As A Rival will be playing shows across Australia in support of the EP. Dates will be announced shortly.

Nice. I like to hear something pushing some sort of boundary. But don't stop pushing. Good mix.
