Boatfriends is Shanna Watson (vox/guitar) and Clinton Edwards (bass/drums/keys). Before they were Boatfriends, they were house friends, sharing a post-war bungalow in Newcastle, NSW. They shared other things too: a pet rabbit, two skateboards, and big-time crush on bands like Cocteau Twins, Black Moth Super Rainbow, Cornelius, and My Bloody Valentine.



Boatfriends played their first live show at a house party new years eve 2010/11. Since then, they have shared the stage with Neon Indian, Pumice (NZ), Oscar + Martin, Collarbones, Chet Faker and Grun, among a bunch of others.
