James Henry is a singer/songwriter relocated to Melbourne from Sydney who's been playing the pubs and cafe's regularly since late 02. Playing often as a solo artist, James occasionally brings the trio together and dusts off his electric guitar to rock out.

In 2004 he was nominated for the "Most promising new talent" award at the ‘Deadly’s’ Aboriginal music awards after completing his debut album "Calm Crazy" with a brief tour across Australia. In James's travels he has had the opportunity to support bands and artists such as GANGgajang, Jimmy Little, Josh Pyke, Glenn Tilbrook and Paul Greene.

James's strongest music influences would have to come from Simon and Garfunkel, The Beatles and more recently so Elliott Smith. Like these artists his songs vary in mood from the sweetest arpeggiated melodies of heartbreak to the heavily strummed high-energy songs about the pleasures of life. His carefully crafted tunes, though very melodic and easy listening, weave their way through unfamiliar chords and structures keeping listeners engaged. James's comfortable casual manner on stage belies a feeling of a fun sing along in a friends living room as he shares stories about many of the songs he plays. Lovers of songwriters from the 60's and 70's should find themselves having a pleasant evening watching James Henry play.

"James Henry comes across as wacky, sensitive, honest, fun, passionate and pure. His songs have a wonderful innocence to them, yet he can place an audience in a trance with a power of intimacy, that shows maturity and strength of character well beyond his years. James is a true artist, he writes songs from the heart and sings them with disarming beauty."

"As a full time touring musician I meet most of the aspiring songwriters that come out of the city of Sydney, and many from around the country - James Henry is simply the most talented I have encountered. His songs are brutally honest and real, but cleverly woven and delivered with silky, enchanting melodies. His talent and outrageous humility are matched by his willingness to get amongst it and work hard. I have every confidence James Henry will go a very, very long way."
