Mile End are a band formed from the necessity to hear something that did not exist, to hear music that could redefine the landscape, to change the world one convert at a time.

From the halls of high school, four friends came together to create a band that they always wanted to see, that they always wanted to hear. Cameron Hines, Jerome Turle, Nick Barnett and Dean Anthonisz make the music they want to hear, producing a sound of melon collie destruction and arrangements that teeter on the brink on destruction just to be brought back to suck your soul.

Playing around Perth for the last six years, Mile End have moved from the bedroom to the stage producing a live show to shake your brains and taking their song writing beyond their experiences and far above their peers.

Sounding like the bastard child of The John Spencer Blues Explosion and Tom Waits transplanted at birth from the deep south and reared on the beaches of an Australian summer.

Mile End write with a ferocious pace but settle on little, whiling the night away in a world of music to come away with songs that often defy description and defy the very notion of genre.

Their arrangements are straight from a deep innate mindset, coming together as a group to produce songs that never relent, songs that progress their own style to a place that they themselves are new to.

They will become your new favourite band, they will become what you talk about to your friends, ‘they will play and suck your soul’

'After kicking around the local traps for a seemingly never-ending amount of time, Mile End have released an EP that is sure to rise their profile tenfold. The title track is a dreamy shoegazing piece of near perfection with moody undecipherable vocals over swirling guitars and a restrained rhythm section. The dark, post-rocking mood continues over the CD's four tracks and 22 minutes, resulting in one of the best local EPs this town has seen so for this year.' - Rumblefish review, Drum Media, July 17 2008

I've seen these guys live and they are probably one of the best bands in Perth. Great musicianship matched by great lyrics and fantastic vocals.
