I've had musical interests since the day I was 9 or so, grade 5 maybe (" I don't know you do the math?"). beating on mums cushions in the lounge room with her knitting needles whilst playing along to some corny band like wah wah nee or something like that on countdown. By the time I was 11 I think I upgraded to pots and pans and then mum had enough and got me a cheap and nasty drum kit which served its purpose for several years after that. Playing in an AC DC Chisel cover band in my 20's I'd had enough of mainsteam bogan rock so I tinkered with a guitar and keyboard belonging to other band members and went into writing my own stuff. It wasn't working for me in the beggining as my heart was to emotional (HUH?, after coming from an ACDC cover band. Funny that.) and I cried evertime I wrote something about the world and love with those BLOODY BALLARDY CHORDS, "Geez they pull at the heart string like some annoying sensationalized 60 minutes report" . I still write like that but I just wanted to add that little more edge. So here is my entry, love with a twist of rock and a dash of punk, might just bring a tear to the eye of the odd goth if I'm lucky. I'm going to slipp in the very first song I ever wrote called Road in the Distance which is sung and performed by Dave Fillmore who I am colaborating with here in Perth also an entry in unearthed as Hydraphonica check it out . The best thing about unearthed is your not expected to be good looking to enter ,everyone gets a shot, you know what crappy show I'm talking about don't you,how lucky are we to be free in our country to create music or anything driven by expression, never forget that in these Bullshit times we live in, good on ya Triple J!! ROK ON UNEARTHIENS!!!!
