Simon Hudson builds upon his songwriting strengths with a tight rhythm section augmented by a horn section. His sound borrows from that of Paul Simon - melodic, thought-provoking songs with an underlying bed of pulsating traditional rhythms - along with the moody poeticism of Leonard Cohen. Simon Hudson has studied traditional African, Brazilian and Latin music, and this is evident in his hypnotic groove-based approach.
