Electric Harp pouring out psychedelic melodies over stylin atmospheric grooves woven with soulful vocals, laying down a lushly funky, dark and sparkling, cinematic brew. Harper Kayt Wallace with her 36-string Electric Harp is joined by Stephan Beattie on Bass/Guitar & BamBam on skins. Kayt intrepidly explores the sonic possibilities of our ancient friend the Harp, often sculpting tones quite outside the traditional expectations of how a Harp should sound. With a solid rhythm section thrown into the mix the Flumes pull a fat live sound, transcending genres and crafting highly original, ear tickling tunes. Springing from the sultry depths of North QLD, the Flumes are currently based on the Sunshine Coast. Equally at home on festival stages or intimate venues, The Flumes have performed at soirees and festivals including; Woodford, Island Vibe, Kuranda Roots, Winter Solstice, Yungaburra, Eumundi Live, Palm Creek festivals, their support slots include; Stringmansassy, Sarah Mcleod and the Violent Femmes. The Flumes have also been known to lend their music to stage, screen and pyro-theatre. The Flumes have independently released their 2011 EP "Swell". Five blissful tracks recorded primarily at Studio B (Gold Coast), with vocals and mastering done at Pix Records (Sunshine Coast), The Flumes ventured outside of the relative comforts of their home studio, and made their most accomplished recording to date, tracks 1 & 5 of which have been awarded "Highly Commended" in the Queensland Music Awards 2011.

I LOVE this band!! Their advantage is the unusual-ness of the electric harp which gives a special edge to their beautiful songs. Definitely worth see...
