Forming in late 2005, The Embers fast became one of Tasmania’s most sought after live bands, attracting a diverse crowd not often seen in the same room. Constantly, The Embers pack steaming venues shoulder to shoulder with craving punters steeped within infectious dance grooves and musical transcendence that has become synonymous with this band.

2006: The Embers won the National Campus Band Competition after competing with over 1000 bands from across the country to join an impressive list of previous winners. The Embers also became a regular act at Festivals across the state, including consecutive years at The Falls Festival in 05 & 06, MS Fest 06 and The Southern Roots Festival 07 as well as playing gigs with The Violent Femmes, The Whitlams, Lior, Bomba, The Red Eyes, True Live, The Exploders, The Rob Sawyer Band and The Custom Kings.

2007: The Embers recorded their debut EP at Woodstock Studios in Melbourne, which was funded by Sony BMG as winners of the NCBC. After hearing The Embers sound, Troy Trigwell (Director and engineer: Woodstock Studios) was fast to source Robin Mai (ARIA nominee in 2004 for his work on the John Butler Trio 4x platinum ‘Sunrise Over Sea’) to mix and master the sessions.

The EP is set for release mid August
