triple j is on the hunt for Australia’s best high school band. If you’ve ever dreamed of starting a band and ruling the school now is the time to get cracking.

Radiohead, Silverchair, and Operator Please all started their bands in high school and you could be next high school band to superstardom!

We will be flying the winning band to Sydney and putting you up for the night so you can re-record your track with our talented triple j live music producers and engineers. You’ll be played on triple j, and may even end up in the pages of jmag.

AND your school wins too! We'll be bringing the triple j team to your school for a super exclusive lunchtime concert with The Living End!

We’re looking for a band or solo artist of any genre, with any number of people. You just have to have at least 50% of your band attending the same high school, and write awesome original tunes.

So why not grab your mates and give it a go? Along with some helpful people in the know, we’ve come up with a go-to guide to take you through the process in making that dream a reality. You’ll find all the knowhow on starting a band, rehearsals, songwriting, gigging, recording and promoting yourself in the features section.
