NAIDOC Week Collab 2018
During NAIDOC Week, we went and organised a big ole' collab with three talented Indigenous artists.
Perth rapper Ziggy Ramo and 22 year old singer-songwriter Alice Skye are two of the brightest stars on Unearthed, and who we partnered up with iconic rapper / producer / beats technician Trials (A.B. Original, Funkoars).
After the three artist spent all this week writing, recording and spit-shining the track, we’re proud to be able to put it in your ears. The brand new song is called 'Uncomfortable' and it’s exclusively available on triple j Unearthed and free for you to stream and download right here.
Ziggy and Alice joined Sally & Erica on triple j’s Drive to talk us through the process and how it's Alice's first collab EVER. Ziggy has nothing but good things to say about how the collab came about: “It’s super good. Really good. It’s been a dream. It’s been wonderful.”
“It was really surprising, the ideas [Trials] sent through, because it was just not what I expected,” says Ziggy, “in the best possible way. He’s just so diverse, with what he can do”
Despite his history working with some truly enormous Australian artists, Trials was moved by this team up: “To hear artists like Alice and Ziggy write so unashamed and so brave and so unapologetic is beautiful… I think that it’s the perfect use of something like triple j Unearthed”
