A prime of example of true musicianship, the introduction of this song really speaks 'less is more' and effortlessly delivers. Perfectly structured, never a dull moment, and the beauty of it all is the originality of this music. The harmonies are superb, and the entrance of the second verse is just absolutely brilliant! Just the way it all fits, the bass and drums demonstrate clearly the role of a rhythm section and how effective one small thing can be in a single moment, again, the 'less is more' thing. The Dukes of Erlington should be getting a heck of a lot more airplay. Triple J, I needn't say it. You know what to do.

Each instrument's role in this piece works beautifully melodically and rhythmically, and mind you it is indeed very clever song writing as well, structurally and thematically. Some parts remind me of an epic 70s sci-fi movie, yet with the chorus I feel as if I'm standing right beneath the sun and it's magical rays are making me all nice and warm. So many different vibes are produced in this song, but it all gels together perfectly. Erling Gronhaug in my opinion is a brililiant and prolific song writer. It easily deserves 5 stars.

One of the most beautiful and honest songs I have heard in a long time. Played and sung with so much emotion, it flawlessly accomplishes to resonate with the listener throughout and long after the piece is finished. The syncopation of the vocal melody makes it feel so brutally sincere, again, another brilliant song. It's songs like this which make me question why Erling Gronhaug isn't ridiculously famous. This song is the pure essence of inspiration, a true portrayal of the art of music. I just have to listen to this song over and over again until my heart's content. If you haven't heard The Dukes of Erlington, then unfortunately, you're missing out.

Newcastles got something in the water again. A balanced blend of synthetic wonderment and organic lushess sound. A voice which has felt a note or two is as such to 'tell us a story'. Meloncholly but never dull. Chilled out soul rock.
