Gorgeous. Understated. Reminds me of a film noir soundtrack, especially with those mellow horns. Great flow, all of the sounds seem to linger long after the song's finished. High Fives, Cathy!

REVIEW OF ORIGINAL RECORDING - This is the one of hers that I like the most so far. I like how sparse her music is, but I can also hear her expanding the range of sounds she uses to bring the songs to life a bit more. She's got a slow-release appeal to what she does. Her voice treads the line well between quirky and straight, and there are little subtleties which keep you interested.

REVIEW OF ORIGINAL RECORDING - Very pretty song, strong vocals and i liked the piano arrangement and im always a fan of trumpet. The only thing im not sure about is the `ever so slight' accent??? is it real? rb

Wow, what a voice. The Regina Spektor influences are clear here, but I think Cathy can strike her own path easily from here on in. This is stunning stuff... can't wait to hear what happens next.

REVIEW OF ORIGINAL RECORDING - Cathy Petocz has a beautiful voice, somewhat reminiscent of Lisa Loeb. The piano is nice and pretty however it doesn't really go anywhere and after a while becomes rather repetitive. If she were to team up with some innovative musicians she would have a very strong product.

A cold and beautiful piano driven piece. Cathy has a strong voice, which is a bit reminiscent of Bjork. In this case employing just the piano works well with the slow and simple tune giving the song a bleak yet stunning vibe.

Bump. Downloaded this when I was 14, first time I ever went on Unearthed. Stoked to find it's still here, sounding just as mysterious and soulful as ever. Hope you're doing well in the world, Cathy Petocz.

Very beautiful song that Australia should have more of. It sounds a bit too Regina Spektor for my taste but is quite fantastic, indeed.

I'm still not tired of this track. It has a great mood, fantastic vocals and the trumpets bring it to a whole new level.

Nice use of piano/keyboard/and is that a trumpet? Good strong vocals. Nice clarity. Lyrics need to be worked on a bit. Not many people can use xylophone and get away with it. You did :) The song is really good, the music is good the only thing that is holding this song back is the lyrics. Hire a good lyricist to get better. Anyway, overall talented.

Despite thinking "Oh god, not another song about Sylvia Plath" I actually loved this. It was haunting and tragic and beautiful.

Beautiful. Falls a little in the middle, but the beginning and the (very novel) end more than make up for it.

I agree with everything that 'double sided 45' said. Wonderfully mellow, and just melancholic enough. Very much a rainy day song. And so vivid! I can't listen to this song without flooding my mind with images of black and white. Victorian wallpaper, a man in pinstripes alone in a café, a scarfed woman on a winter's day, and a face like a glass of water. Stunning.
