Eilish has this habit of making records that sound initially great but somehow get better with time? Weird, I know. I believe it has something to do with her vocal melodies, but look, I'm not a doctor.

as usual eilish is naturally full of drama and emotion and she tells a story i would happily re-read over and over again.

Simmering emotion on this track. It allows Eilish's voice to rise ever higher and take you with it on its ascent.

it kicks right when you want it to and if you aren't siding with eilish by the end of the song then you aren't right. in a world where a lot of stuff is very similar or imitations of something else, eilish has a lane to herself.

My first 5 star review for 2018. What a sensational offering from Eilish. It's pop, it's vulnerable, it makes me feel like sprinting through the 'burbs late at night, not sure what I'm running from and with no set destination.

This is the next step that we’ve been waiting for from you Eilish, taking you from introspective genius to expansive pop deity. This is the song.

those staccato drums at 0:57, the clap percussion sounds, the lyrical honesty, the general bounce. it's a really cool new direction for eilish and i'm buying one way tickets, no return leg needed.

Thank you for letting me premiere this song last night! It sounded magical on air and I think this new vibrancy in sound really suits your vocals. This song really highlights your versatility as an artist and also points to a really exciting year ahead. Big love.

Definitely showing the grandkids this song in the year 2060. Eilish has once again: done it again. You've become a fully realised artist and I'm mega proud of ya. Can't wait to see you live for the 14th time hehehe

Oh look, here comes Eilish, ready to pull my heart out and salsa dance around it in a frivolous motion, again. Pure ecstasy and heartache.

"Ride the train home by myself, wishing I was someone else" - you can't mess me up like this while I'm at work.

Ain't this a tasty little treat?! It's like if Missy Higgins wrote a song for Vera Blue but swapped the piano for synths. Also, that "I didn't know you, I didn't know enough, I had to learn the way you love" is totally reminiscent of the pre-chorus from Perfect by Simple Plan. This is a wild nostalgic ride and I am here for it.

As usual, excellent song craft in this. So good to see the range in your songwriting too Eilish. You're one of the best!

WHAAAT! Eilish you've raised the bar again wow. You've grown so much these past three years as an artist. I remember when you only had the one song up online, and definitely saw there was huge potential in your talent. This one is of course, fantastic and I can't wait to catch it live as soon as possible

Your production and attention to detail never cease to blow my goddamn mind. I could spend weeks analysing this and still find new things to enjoy with each new pass.
