Another sensitive, stunning, lullaby-like beauty from Nick. I love that this one's got a bit more brightness to it. You are one of the most special songwriters to exist I swear. I'm looking forward to your debut EP so much.

firstly, i love how you've flipped the footy term of 'holding the man' into this title and secondly, wow, you've done it again. this delicate, acoustic construction is as good as any nick ward song we've heard to date.

Another beautifully written, sincere song from Nick Ward. Every time you gently show us life through your eyes, and let us in on secrets and feelings that are so touching and intimate.

you approach each song with an expert level of technicality, but still, it sounds warm and inviting and straight from your heart. being a fan of yours is seriously exciting, Nick! so much to look forward to!

As hyped up as I tend to get about new Australian music I still really mean it when I say that Nick Ward has fast become one of the best young artists in the country. His latest is another in a compelling body of work, espesh for an artist fresh out of high school, and I could've given it 5 tbh. But I reckon he's capable to go even better from here.

Yeah, it's a full 5 outta 5 from me. When's the last time you heard this kind of vulnerability but it still hits like a low key banger? Expert level moves from a relative newcomer - Nick Ward's a special talent.

Excuse me while I just wipe away my tears and catch my breath. This is just one of those songs: a deeply honest expression from an artist willing to bare more than just gorgeous music.

this song holds so much power. the power to make me cry upon every single listen, the power to draw us into your world and, most importantly, in my opinion, the power to affirm and validate the experiences of so many queer folks who will listen to this.

a lot of artists might never ever be this honest or as openly vulnerable as nick on this song. it's not buried behind walls of sound or metaphors, the pain and learnings are there for all to see and the combo with lontalius is just so good. big ups for having the courage to put this together, i'm sure lots of people will find comfort through your story.

Aubrey Plaza is such a good direction for Nick and he's stepped up here in terms of production but also raw songwriting. I've not given a lot of five star reviews this year but for how this made me feel, you have to have all five.

Have had this on repeat since it first dropped, Nick. What a precious and special song! Those words come from such a beautiful place, I love the texture, its lullaby like nature, the harmonies, that voice of yours! So divine.

Seeing all those influences you've listed, you're obviously soaking up lots of great artists and ideas. I'm liking the vocal treatment here - it's super dreamy and suits the wide open space of the track.

Loving this gentle hug of a song. Not very Aubrey Plaza in that sense, but I guess she has a gooey centre under all that deadpan.

most of nick's music is a personal, headphones type listen. this one is too, but on radio it works so well with that lush slow build and emotional gravitas.

Oh my god - sorry I'm typing this mid-review and I'm seriously welling up with tears. The chorus of this song is just so heartfelt and hits the perfect cry spots. I don't know if you've seen the movie Holding the Man but this stands next to it as a perfectly nuanced, emotional piece of art. It's bittersweet, it's emotional and makes me nostalgic for the past.
