Alex delivering perhaps the most unexpected entry into our DIY Supergroup competition with this affectionate trip down memory lane to a time before COVID-19 where everyone wore heelys and Owl City wrote the national anthem.

I think we heard hints of this side of Alex's songwriting in a few Columbus songs but I'm loving hearing it fleshed out so gorgeously right here. The details - that spindling guitar, delicate vocal layering and searching lyrics - are so convincing.

One big heart melter. I love a lot of lines in this but I specifically love "and I thought that we should just be friends. It's the dumbest thing I have ever said". MY HEART. So charming and you've delivered it so well.

The is such a good song. Layered beautifully and written with every little piece of the puzzle in mind. I get this feeling you'd be able to produce this quality repeatedly with ease. God I hope so.

This is so lush! But somehow you make many intricacies sound so simple. The songwriting is honest and vulnerable, and that guitar line is reminiscent of a top-tier Didirri track. Beautiful stuff.

Heart on the sleeve lyrics and a voice that feels like it's in the room with me recounting their woes, it's so lovely and beautiful.

Alex this is such a BEAUTIFUL debut single! This track is like opening up a novel, and your telling this story through stunning vocals and instruments. It's full of depth and love and I'm just in awe of your music talent. Amazing work!! x

a catchy tune, feeling some Ziggy Alberts influence. Great use of dynamics to create interest, building to the final climax of the chorus. Interested to see whats next!

This song is imbued with a rare mix of emotional vulnerability and a profound understanding, strength and wisdom. What a debut from an intelligent and inspired songwriter! Can't wait for more!
