Music has always been a part of Alexis’ life; she has been composing pieces since she was big enough to play guitar at the tender age of 6. At 15, she released her first solo album and toured the world with those songs plus the ones that followed on her follow up LP, Optimistic You. This worldwide journey, full of musings, sounds and adventures, brought out the true essence of this singer-songwriter. Alexis Nicole is a prolific songwriter and a powerful performer. Her songs are a seamless fusion of folk, gypsy and roots. Her content is inspired by social observation and her passion for cultural intricacies. With her band The Missing Pieces, Alexis shares her raw, organic sounds, entertaining audiences everywhere. The Missing Pieces come together to perform the songs reflecting Alexis Nicole’s honest observations in life. They include some of the best musicians from around Australia and beyond, bringing to life the rhythms and melodies developed by Alexis. Obvious to everyone is their love of the music and the fun they all have on stage. It is at once captivating and infectious. In early 2012 Alexis Nicole and some of The Missing Pieces ventured to Brisbane, Queensland, for a few months to record her latest EP, Paper Cut Outs. Members of The Gin Club, The Wilson Pickers and Good Oak joined the recording process as part of The Missing Pieces. Recorded by Yanto Browning (Kate Miller-Heidke, The Medics) and David Neil (Katie Noonan) Paper Cut Outs is the exciting and insightful culmination of Alexis’ travels. She toured nationally late 2012 to showcase the amazing results.
