Bio

“Alium’s set featured killer riffs and face-melting solos that you’d expect from a band beyond their years. With clean and rough vocals above the thrashy melodies, it’s clear that heavy metal comes naturally to these guys.” TEO Magazine 2017
Alium was formed in 2016 by four high school metal enthusiasts with the sole purpose of combining old school heavy metal with many modern elements. Composed of Rhys D’Sylva-Peck (vocals, guitar), Tom Short (guitar), Henry Scott (bass guitar) and Julian Harmer (drums), the band found themselves in instant musical chemistry, constantly writing new material.
After taking two years to tweak their sound, Alium recorded their debut single “Messenger” which is set be released on January 5th, 2019. With musical influences such as Pantera, Machine Head, Trivium, Iron Maiden and Metallica, they focus on combining punishing, thrashy riffs with melodic vocals and guitar harmonies.
Throughout their three years of companionship, they have played countless shows in clubs and bars across Adelaide. In December of 2017, they competed against three rounds of talent from across South Australia in 2017 Keep It Real’ ‘Battle of the Bands’ at Global Music Revolution, where they found themselves playing as finalists.
