Bio

amelie eileen is an 18 year old, Melbourne-born, artist surviving her last year of high school through song-writing and music and the comfort it brings.

From a very young age, amelie discovered the world of music through festivals, like Folk Rhythm & Life and the Apollo Bay music festival, and through musical family and friends. They inspired her to pick up instruments and follow her creativity, and eventually helped her find her way to songwriting.

Inspired by the music of her childhood, a wide pool of genres crossing through Dolly, Nina, Velvet Underground, and all the Johnny’s, local artists known, like Sal Kimber and the Rollin’ Wheel, the Tiger and Me and Camp Cope, and not so known, like Atluk. A deep love of captivating hooks, hummable melodies and sweet harmonies drive amelie’s songwriting, as can be heard in her single ‘Lavender’.

Using the motif of colour as a way to perceive the world and life, ‘Lavender’ is her first release, of what she hopes to be many. Instead of rose-coloured glasses, she interprets life through purple and lavender tones, exploring happiness and sadness and that little space in between, where you feel really nothing at all.
