Bio

At the heart of Sydney songstress Amy Rose’s graceful, electronic, pop lays her intimate and deeply emotive voice. Channeling indie charm-merchants like Feist, Florence and Imogen Heap, Amy weaves a delicate tapestry of lush organic music interwoven with digital effects, spawning captivating melodies and ethereal post-folk soundscapes.

Having escaped a religious cult with her family in Queensland, Amy has been performing since she was a child with family, friends and many other musicians. Her unique upbringing had a distinct impact on her music, leading to the recording of her first solo EP as a teenager in 2005.

A little experimentation with a glockenspiel from a local music store sparked the creation ‘Peel’, the title track of Amy’s EP, released in mid 2012. She then had huge local support for her follow on single ‘Running’ - seeing Amy paint her experimental pop sensibilities with a more synth-heavy musical palette. ‘Running’ was a finalist in the prestigious Vanda & Young competition in 2013, gaining the attention of the industry and music fans alike.

Since 'Running', Amy has recorded a brooding cover of the 80s classic ‘Break My Stride’ and provided the feature vocal for dance act The Twins’ single 'Cant Tear Us Apart'.

With more shows and songs under her belt, Amy is back with ‘Awake Alive’, a euphoric, driving track with that powerful but intimate vocal that only Amy Rose delivers.

This is some very nice, lush pop. As things build and the keyboards layer on top of one another it all gets pretty and dreamy.
