      About

Angus Blaikie has been itching to make a folk record for a long time. He has crafted a six song EP “Summertime Muse” as a kind of soft-toned “pastoral folk” to evoke feelings of simpler times, like a fond childhood memory, or rambling through a meadow with your lover. In a sense, they're like "lullabyes for grown ups." Blaikie’s focus on story-telling sees him create a narrative thread about summer romance and touches upon eternal themes such as limerance, heartache, communication, and, the power of the gaze. The songs all feature a nylon-stringed guitar and a tender male voice, bolstered by Blaikie’s own lush chamber-string arrangements, reminiscent of Leonard Cohen and Nick Drake. The EP was engineered and mixed by Cameron Bower (Milk Buttons, Big Dead, Cow Bird, Oh Ye Denver Birds) with Blaikie and Bower co-producing. Mastered by William Bowden of King Willy Sound. Angus Blaikie’s Summertime Muse EP will be released on the 17th of August, 2017, along with an Instrumental version ...
