Having been a performer for many years prior, it was when she witnessed Erykah Badu and Mary J Blige perform that she first became mesmerised by the backing vocalists. Heavily inspired to first enter the arts from this transformative experience, AnnaLina went onto to cut her teeth not only performing RnB and soul in bands around her home in Sydney, but also working as a backing vocalist and vocal arranger.
Fast forward years later, and AnnaLina goes one step further, building upon her already extensive history as an artist and performer. Inspired by Jorja Smith, Etta James, Odette and Kaiit, AnnaLina’s sound is one that is at once paying tribute to the greats while also entirely future-facing, pairing her classic RnB vocals with modern production flair. Taking a realistic view on relationships, AnnaLina channels her own experiences to create something at once personal and universal with her music.
Having grown up in many countries across the world from being born in Norway to spending time in Venezuela, Egypt and France before making her way to Sydney as a child, AnnaLina’s deep love of music has been with her for life. In 2020, AnnaLina is set to finally stake her claim as an artist on the rise — knowing exactly who she is and where she belongs.
