Artist:Annie McKinnon

McKinnon was born and raised in north-western NSW in a small town called Coonabarabran. When she left home for a life in Sydney, she went to University to study sound design and composition. Being far away from home, music and songwriting helped her to deal with the challenges she faced. Dealing with homesickness, coupled with working out her sexuality in a new relationship with her first real love, her music is full of intensity and heart. McKinnon began production of her upcoming record in 2015. Working with Co-producer, Bree van Reyk, McKinnon described a clear and detailed sonic world for each of her songs - van Reyk was the perfect creative accomplice. Alongside van Reyk, the album was created with McKinnon’s long-term collaborators including Alexander Lee, Laura Comensoli, Sam Brumby, Rowan McKinnon, Emma Davis, David Trumpmanis and Alyx Dennison. During her hiatus from solo releases, McKinnon has been studying architecture and working as a designer.
