Antechinus (ant-ee-kine-us) is a four piece band founded on the Gold Coast in late 2015. With all four members coming from different walks of life and musical backgrounds, the band collaborates and encourages a “free-thinking approach” to the writing of their music. Combining elements of classic punk, death metal, prog rock, stoner/doom and even some lighter alternative rock sounds, Antechinus can’t seem to easily dictate the style of music they play. Humour and a higher level of seriousness vocally portrayed throughout their track-list further assists in this; essentially like crossing the banter of Jim Jefferies one moment and channelling something deeper and sincere (like of Bill Hicks) the next.
