Bio

A N T E L O P E Antelope are a five piece instrumental outfit from Perth, Western Australia. Through a series of field, home and studio recordings, the band produces what one reviewer described as “the soundtrack to an unwritten tragedy, complete with dramatic tension, polarising mood and inexplicable subtlety.” Whilst maintaining sentiments of post-rock, Antelope steers clear of its regular trappings. Succinct storytelling, field recordings and dual percussionists combine to create an emotive journey that delivers both live and on record. Since their inception in late 2011, the group have launched into a busy gigging schedule featuring both national and international supports. The mix of infectious energy and intricate songwriting makes the release of debut EP, one to anticipate. “With the aid of dual percussionists they have one of the tightest rhythm sections in this city.” – Space Ship News, July 2013 “When listening to this, I can picture the sun gleaming, birds chirping, and the whole town joining together in a giant flash-mob sing-along.” – Spread, March 2013 “… Opened a world of imagery for the audience’s collective mind to explore.” - Kane Sutton, The Music, July 2013

I keep returning to this tune and like it more with each listen. It's cleverly constructed with a surprising amount of warmth for what could be termed a post-rock sound.
