Bio
The Appointments meld reggae, rock, soul, and roots into a flavour of their own. The trio are constantly evolving, distilling infectious grooves and melodies into uplifting music to bring people together.
Rhys (Guitar, Vocals) and Eli Love (Drums, Vocals) have been playing music together all their lives, this project sees the brothers creating music direct from their deepest influences. In mid 2019, former housemate Kurt Speirs (Bass) completed the trio and the band continued moulding their catalogue of jam sessions and ideas into groove laden, harmonically inspired tracks.
In a true DIY spirit, ‘You’re Welcome’ was written, recorded, and mixed in their bedrooms. The energetic track found glowing reviews and spent time on top of the Roots charts of Triple J unearthed and featured in the Top 5 of the overall Unearthed Charts.
The summer of 20/21 will see the band drop two more home grown, sun-drenched singles, 'My Mind's Eye' & 'Sweet Life'.
The Appointments were the first band to fully utilise Novotone Newcastle for live recording.
These sessions delivered the backbone of the band's up coming debut E.P.
