Archives are, first and foremost five close friends from Adelaide, South Australia. Growing up together shaped these individuals, through similar experiences towards one goal; the creation of music that is both artistically and technically challenging, whilst still remaining an earnest and heartfelt outpouring of emotion.

Archives describe their sound as an eclectic melting pot of a variety of influences, most notably a combination of the ferocity of hardcore and the emotion and melody of the Smiths and the Cure. Archives passion is the live experience. The creation of a connection between an audience and a band can never be imitated. It is this connection that Archives seek, as the true conformation of their artistic endeavors.

Archives debut release, Young Love, encompasses the ideals of the band without compromise. Recorded at Track Seven studios by Luke Day (Paper Arms, Mara Jade, Rin and the Reckless) and Mastered by Tom Baker at Precision Mastering (Prince, The Living End, Pink Floyd) the release is a calculated first step in a blossoming career.

In their short career thus far, Archives have shared the stage with international acts Hundredth (USA) and Jonny Craig (USA) as well as playing with national favourites Paper Arms, The Getaway Plan, Sierra and Vices.

Archives have built a rampant and loyal fan base, which combined with their DIY ethic, passionate drive for artistic expression and energetic and moving live show, has them set to be a must watch act in 2014.
