Bio

Equal parts emotive and catchy, Arctic Maps is an electronic pop duo from Melbourne, Australia. Taking heavy influence from London Grammar, Daughter and MS MR, their music combines effortless lyricism with ambient and ethereal instrumentation. Freya’s silky vocals are softly supported by the lush but minimal electronic sounds of NPOWA.

First single ‘The Ocean Is My Cathedral’ is a lament to a friendship lost and was inspired by a photo taken by New Zealand photographer Connie McDonald. Also touching on environmental themes this is a strong debut and sets the scene for future Arctic Maps tracks.

Works in progress include a cover of a prominent Australian musician (in it’s final stages now and due for release Jan/Feb 2015) and several other original tracks due for release throughout 2015.

Your voice is beautiful. I feel submerged in this and I can't help but think that's what you were going for.
