Bio

Every now and then comes a band that combines the right mix of genres, sounding original yet familiar and who's sound has the potential to create its own steadfast fan base merging fans of punk, folk and rock and roll. Sometimes a band may come along that helps restore your faith in music - compelling you to turn the radio up or to blow the dust off your dancing shoes. For me and for many in Brisbane, this band is Army of Champions.

For those of you who have had the pleasure of seeing this band live since they formed in 2009, or you have listened to any of their releases - "If only just to hold" EP (2011), "Animal Versus Man" LP (2012), "Burning Alive" EP (2013) - it should come as no surprise that the members have had a long musical history, hailing from reputable Brisbane bands past.
The band's sound comes from a vast range of influences. Not only drawn from the punk rock music that made such an impact on their lives growing up, but also from that of classic song writers such as Springsteen, The Clash, The Rolling Stones and Tom Waits. Singer/guitarist and main songwriter Emmy Hour delivers a vocal style that comes from the heart and goes for the throat. Their set seamlessly interchanges between catchy sing-alongs with killer hooks and melodic ballads with plenty of guts. Regardless, you will stomp your feet and you will shout at the ceiling! Somebody get my tambourine!!

How's it taken me this long to leave a review? This tune's such a stomper, love the dueling guitar riffs.
