Bio

“Ashleigh Mannix is one of the strong ones. She has an old school soul and writes music that's so far removed from what's 'hip' that I think it's the hippest thing in the world…” – Mat. McHugh

Starting as a young musician, this soul songstress has had unique experiences touring around the world to perform at
music, sports, charity and fashion gatherings. Along the way Ashleigh has found herself part of a diverse family of
musicians who she has been proud to work with on various tours, festivals and collaboration projects.
Supporting and working with inspiring artists such as James Morrison, Michael Franti, Luka Bloom, Kim Churchill and
Benjalu, Ashleigh has found that strong blend of influences to lay the foundation for a rare and powerful sound.
Somewhere in-between Stevie Nicks and Janis Joplin, Ashleigh is constantly embracing new influences to evolve the sound
of a young woman, and one with a message to deliver.
In August 2013 Ashleigh released her latest recording From The Mountains – Part 2 of her ‘Trill EP’ set (From The City – 2011; From The Mountains – 2013; From The Sea – 2015).

From The Mountains, recorded and produced by Sydney based musician and producer Fernando Aragones, includes 8
songs that showcase Ashleigh’s songwriting talents and extensive musical growth.
The massive 23 show tour that followed it’s release in August/September 2013, included solo and band shows throughout
QLD, NSW, ACT, VIC and SA.

“It is evident from her new CD (From The Mountains)… that Mannix's musicality matures as her recognition grows. Ashleigh Mannix is a true songwriter that Australia can be proud to support.” - The AU Review

Ashleigh finished 2013 with a bang, adding Falls Music and Arts Festival to an extensive list of festivals she has had the
opportunity to showcase her captivating live shows at.
Her festival list includes Byron Bay East Coast Blues & Roots; Sydney Blues Festival; Queenscliff Music Festival; Port Fairy Folk Festival; Golden Days; Woodford Folk Festival; East Coast Music Awards (PEI, Canada); 23rd Annual Folk Alliance (Memphis, TN, USA); and Fuji Rock Festival (Japan).

“Ashleigh Mannix’s music is a metaphorical breath of fresh air. She is a woman; a grown woman, and she sounds like one too.”
– The Ripe
