    About

The Atlas Mountains are a 5-piece indie rock outfit, formed in 2009 in Perth, Western Australia. The band has released three full length albums, with their third album – Stuck in Hope Valley – released on the 21st of November, 2015. The bands straight up rock persuasions have just a hint of alt country thanks to Taylor Smith’s native Tennesseean twang and enduring love of country and gospel music. The band’s debut album, Sanskrit Owl, was recorded in its entirety in one day in an abandoned Perth warehouse with local producer James Newhouse. It was well received by Australia’s national alternative youth station Triple J, with presenter Vijay Khurana saying of the first single (Time Waits for No One): "Doves meets Drones could be an appropriate epithet here. A wild and weary sound and a voice that paces in cramped circles, over and over. Beautiful." Since their inception the band has shared the stage with hundreds of local and national acts, including ARIA nominees Oh Mercy ...
