Bio

Originally formed by lead singer/rhythm guitarist Bailey Gavin and bass player Jack Sgro in early 2019. The pair would spend their first 2 months practicing original material in Bailey’s bedroom while also recruiting other members lead guitarist Daniel Moussa and drummer Alex Shooter. Adopting the name “avenyou” the band would play a number of local gigs but almost completely prioritised the production of their original tracks.

Growing exponentially in style, performance character and creative capability over the next year the band decided to record their first EP titled “Apple from the Devil” at a Sydney based recording studio known as A Sharp Studios. Consisting of tracks Erratic, Indie Kid, Dynamically Dead and A Healthy Dose of a Lethal Rejection. "Apple from the Devil" was completed in the studio within 2 months and released to the world on the 25th of April 2020 just over a year after the bands formation.

Drawing influence from a number of artists such as The Strokes, Arctic Monkeys and Nirvana “avenyou’s” original tracks combine meaningful, sarcastic and often dark lyrical subject matter with an upbeat, catchy and contrasting musical feeling that considers both the entertainment of the lyrical listener and a music lover.

a tender, heartfelt one that lets those melodies slowly unfurl in front of you. was waiting for the rise at the end and it didn't disappoint.
