Bio

AYA YVES /ˈɑːjə/ /ˈiːv/

Aya: (noun)” To fly swiftly”

This Hebrew translation perfectly describes Aya Yves ascension. Born from a love of pushing boundaries and breaking expectations, Aya contrasts light airy vocals in dark, brooding soundscapes. Aya Yves is the new project of singer/songwriter Vendulka who has transcended from her Folk-Pop background into this anomalous electronic realm.

(in)Sanity, the debut release from Aya Yves, is a collaboration with Australian producer Xavier Dunn, whose impressive catalogue also crosses genres and styles (Jack River, CXLOE, Graace, Carmada, Peking Duk). Xavier’s production provides an evocative backdrop. Aya Yves vocals ripple and flutter, telling a familiar tale of love-induced madness.

This enthralling vocal performer with her haunting lyrics is one you’re going to want to keep an eye on.

Aya boasts vocals on par with Florence and the Machine and Sia, and we don't say that lightly. - Crushcop
Just one single in, it is clear this new era of Aya Yves is going to be an incredible rewarding one. – Women In Pop
It’s a rare moment when a debut single from an emerging artist hits you in a way that makes you stop in you tracks and leaves you completely mesmerised, but when it does, it’s rather exhilarating. – Thomas Bleach

What an incredible voice, wooooah. So nicely paired with that slow production, from the start to the finish. An awesome debut

The opening made me think this was going to be the sort of stripped back record that silenced a crowded room and it was, until you hit than chorus which will will quite simply bowl that room over.

You had me literally stopping in my tracks and paying full attention when that chorus kicked in, so good!
