Bio

Rowdy, infectious & loud are several words to describe Brisbane’s latest power house, The Baby Breaks. Not quite garage rock, not quite jazz, yet bluesy & chaotic, The Baby Breaks have burst forth, cementing themselves as the band to watch in Brisbane.

Reminiscent of 00's garage rock, The Baby Breaks add subtle hints of blues, southern, rock'n'roll and jazz influences to showcase their shared love of rock music. With a unique blend of saxophone their unmistakably distinct sound has drawn comparisons to The White Stripes, The Strokes and Kings of Leon whilst also taking influence from early Sun Records artists such as Johnny Cash and Elvis.

The 2019 release of their debut EP ‘Powdered Milk Party’ launched the Baby Breaks into the forefront of the Brisbane Scene. Their Debut release ‘One Handed Clap’ landed straight onto 4ZZZ rotation whilst follow-up single ‘Bedhead’ dominated Triple J Unearthed, sitting in the Number 1 position on the Rock Charts for 8 weeks.

"The Baby Breaks new single One Handed Clap is garage rock bliss, with a killer saxophone, grungy vocals and infectious melodies.” (Happy Mag 2019)

“the band finds a sweet spot between the ferocity of Queens of the Stone Age and Cage The Elephant, teed with the intelligent catchiness of The Strokes.” (Music is my Muse 2020)

In their brief career, the Baby Breaks have played with The Drop Legs, Pacific Avenue, Hemmingway, King Coaster, The Southern River Band, Sunrose & Port Royal.

2020 brings a new leap for the band as they undertake their first East Coast tour in support of their new single ‘Russ Is No Role Model’. Featuring 5 shows, the ‘No Role Models’ tour visits Byron, The Sunshine Coast, The Gold Coast, Newcastle, Sydney & Brisbane this February - March.
