Bio
The Bacchanales, a 4 piece rock outfit from Brisbane, are best described as a controlled detonation of melody and groove, recalling Smashing Pumpkins, Radiohead, QOTSA and other lovers of dynamic, sprawling guitar jams. Their excessively energetic live act is already growing a dedicated fanbase on the streets of Brisbane and since the release of their debut EP in 2014 they have been lucky enough to play with Holy Holy, Bad Dreems, Hey Geronimo and The Belligerents.
This year, after supporting locals up-and-comers Rolls Bayce, the lads are set to release new single “Sandcastles” in May. The new single showcases a new maturity of songwriting and arrangement for the band. An intimate vocal ends up soaring atop an unbreakable backbone of groove, all gracefully intertwining into a reflective, heartfelt ballad on memory and loss. But if it leaves you wanting more, just know this: this single is actually just a snippet of the full 9 minute song - complete with huge guitar arrangement and epic outro - available on their second EP later in the year.

I tell you what... that groove in the verses is eyes closed, deep nodding, transcendental stuff.
