Oscar Manning, professionally known as Ballast, is an Australian electronic music producer and vocalist raised in the Central Coast region, north of Sydney, Australia. Growing up on ‘Rock’ music, Oscar later found a new love for electronic music as it continued to rise to the mainstream in his younger years. Oscar decided that just listening to music was never going to be enough for him, so he began on the path of becoming a music producer. Years down the track, he refined his sound and began to establish himself as an artist and play some shows along the east coast of Australia, until he subsequently found himself stationed in London to further pursue his passion until having to move back to Australia after one year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. With multiple tracks making it onto the globally recognised Triple J Radio, his experimental flair has been described as 'dark', 'doozy' and 'glitchy' with heavy influences from hip hop and pop genres in some tracks.
