Middle Kids, A Modern Shakespearian Tragedy

Jeff Buckley

Amidst a new wave of avant guard Australian troubadours singing for the hardships and stuff ups of the 21st Century...somewhere wandering the streets is Bec Goring with a slightly different approach. She finds solace in singing about the giggle worthy 90s pop culture that she has grown up with, the trials and tribulations of love & life, but with a positive outlook. An electrifying guitarist and singer whose music blurs the boundaries between blues and jazz, she pays subtle homage to many soul and blues artists. Sweet vocals backed by a never-ending bag of blues infused riffery, eloquent harmonies whilst maintaining a striking contrast among songs. It's not at all surprising that audiences are spinning her single release 'Weekend' like fairy floss from a candy store.

Returned to this one for a dose of pure-voiced blues.
