Bio

Singer/songwriter Ben Camden began his career with a 6 month nightly residency in the Italian Alps, followed by a year on the French Riviera. Add to that a short stint of living in Fiji and you start to get an idea of where Ben’s enigmatic sound and image come from. After drifting through the Sydney open mic/small bar scene for a few years and gaining a reputation for his sweet love songs, raw honesty and a baritone vocals, he released his debut EP ‘This Is Yours’ in June 2016.

“Few do it with such thoughtfulness and lightness of touch as Ben Camden.”
-TONE DEAF

Following a year of extensive touring, Ben worked with ARIA award winning producer Govinda Doyle (Angus & Julia Stone) mid 2017 on songs he had written over the past 12 months. First single ‘Strawberry Jam’ received airplay with Triple J, Double J and community radio nationwide, as well as peaking at No. 2 on the Triple J Unearthed chart. The east coast tour promoting the single also saw Ben supporting Colin Hay, Hoodoo Gurus and Sarah McLeod (Superjesus). Second single ‘Last Night’ premiered on Triple J in May 2018, and was accompanied by more city and regional touring.

“Ben Camden is the personification of grit and swagger.”
- AAA Backstage

“Blues with sass”
- Nkechi Anele, Triple J

Title track of the new EP released 31st August, ‘Caroline’, is as raw and soul-baring as it gets. Driven by an entrancing steel guitar riff and his signature baritone, Camden leaves no card unturned as the track builds to a crescendo of seismic proportions. The real beauty of the song is it’s transcending ability to make you want to move your feet as well as listen in heart broken isolation.

The depth of Ben Camden's voice is literally groundbreaking.
It makes everything sound like a dark western, it's a talent - so good.

Deep voices rock! - There I said it.

Blues with sass, if this track doesn't have you shaking, strutting or feeling good - you need to get your head checked.
