Selected to represent the Melbourne music scene at French festival "Les Escales" sharing the line up with fellow Melbournians Alex Lahey, Remi, Ecca Vandal, RVG, CC Disco and Fantastic Man, Ben Whiting presents his new single "Birdcage"before heading to Europe. The Byron Bay native’s authentic and occasionally nostalgic musings on life and love have created a fresh take on contemporary indie folk, with a distinctive crowd-pleasing rock edge honed on the streets of Melbourne. This edge is always underscored by his magnetic vocals, singular guitar stylings and songs that simultaneously include optimism, beauty and darkness. Early in his career, Ben’s previous band played festivals including Splendour In The Grass and supported artists such as Katy Perry, Grinspoon and The Angels.
